Patient Care Assistant - OR

Responsible for assisting in patient care activities to maintain quality of care and efficiency in the surgical environment (Operating Room) including completing cleaning tasks and ensuring the trash, medical waste and other duties are carried out as assigned.  The position requires working with minimal supervision while completing assigned tasks.

Experience in hospital setting preferred.

Admitting Clerk

Interviews incoming patients or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer, verifies insurance benefits timely to ensure compliance with the Center's policies and procedures as well as perform other duties. Experience with insurance verifications, Managed Care, Medicare, HMO/PPO plans required.

Medical Office Assistant (FT)

Provides basic care for patients in the medical office setting by providing information, services and assistance under the supervision of the physician.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Graduate from accredited school for Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Current BLS training (or successfully complete within 1 month of date of hire).
  • Minimum of 3 years in medical office setting as a CMA required.
  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology, particularly Orthopedic/Spine.
  • > 5 years in medical office setting as a CMA preferred.
  • Experience with Orthopedic/Spine practice strongly preferred.

Unit Secretary - Inpatient Unit (PT and FT)

High School diploma or GED; Familiarity with Medical Terminology; Current BLS training (or successfully complete within 1 month of date of hire); prior experience in hospital.

Medical Assistant or CNA preferred

Director of Surgical Services

The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for the direct management of the Operating Rooms and Sterile Processing and the oversight of Pre-Op/PACU and Surgery Scheduling. 

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as a RN in the State of Texas.
  • Bachelor's degree (or making significant progress toward earning a degree).
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the OR as an RN required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role in the OR required.
  • CNOR preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support Training (at date of hire).
  • Current ACLS training (or successfully complete within 3 months of date of hire).
  • Current PALS training (or successfully complete within 6 months of date of hire).
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, strategic planning, project management, coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Masters degree in a clinical discipline or management preferred.

Pharmacist (PRN)

Reviews prescriptions issued by Physicians, or other authorized pre-scriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients need. Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.  Advises medical staff on selection and effects of drugs.  Counsels patients and family members on use of prescribed drugs at home.  Serves as resource fro pharmaceutical information for physicians, allied health staff and nursing staff.  We are searching for a Pharmacist to help cover shifts as we continue to grow. 

Hours:  PRN - Varied

Qualifications:

  • Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Licensure.
  • Current BLS training
  • Current ACLS training (or successfully complete within 3 mos. DOH)
  • Current PALS training (or successfully complete within 6 mos. DOH)
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Pharmacy degree required
  • 2 years hospital experience
  • IV certified

Operating Room Tech

Hours:  3PM- 11:30PM; flexible to meet the needs of the surgery schedule

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from an accredited program for Operating Room Technicians.
  • A minimum of two years experience as an OR Tech.  Spine experience perferred.
  • Current BLS training (at date of hire).

RN, Operating Room (FT/PRN)

Working Hours:  3PM-11PM Monday-Friday

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in the State of Texas.
  • Minimum of 2 years OR experience as an RN.
  • Must have current BLS training at date of hire; ACLS training to be completed within 3 months of date of hire; and PALS training to be completed within 6 months of date of hire.

New:  Will consider new nursing graduates with a minimum of 2 years OR experience as Surgical Technologist.

Peri-Operative Nurse Practitioner (FT)

RN, Inpatient (PRN/FT)

Qualifications:

  • BLS required; ACLS (or within 3 months of date of hire) and PALS (or within 6 months of date of hire).
  • A minimum of 2 years experience preferred.
  • Orthopedic experience preferred, but not necessary.

Work Hours:  Shifts available:  7pm-7am, 7am-7pm Sunday-Saturday

Pharmacy Technician (PRN)

Qualifications:

  • Must be registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Certified by PTCB and IV Certified by approved provider.
  • 5 years or more hospital experience.

Materials Management Technician (FT)

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to continually stand, walk, bend and lift.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hospital supplies through relevant experience in hospital or with supplier preferred.

Medical Assistant (PRN)

To provide clinical and administrative support to the Pre-Op/PACU area.

  • Greets patients and escorts them to the Pre-Op area.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs.
  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during assessments; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests in area; disposing of contaminated supplies.
  • Answers the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
  • Transports patients and beds.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
  • Continually restocks the necessary forms and office supplies in preparation for the next day.

Varying Shifts:  Monday - Friday 6AM-7PM

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Certified Medical Assistant.
  • 2 years experience in a hospital (PRE-OP) setting preferred.
 

Administration

Business Developement Coordinator

Description:  Provides coordination and communication with patient referral sources.  Manages patient intake process, coordinates with revenue cycle functions and maintains patient database.

Education/Experience Requirements:  Bachelor degree preferred; 1 year in health related field or academic internship in healthcare required; four years related experience preferred.

Workers Comp Collections

This position is responsible for Workers Compensation Verification and verifies traditional insurance. 

Qualifications:

One to two years experience with Workers Comp Collections is desired.  Knowledge of Workers Comp claims.
